Seaman Corporation - Trade Show Invitation

Every year at Paragraphics we look forward to producing one of our more intricate and interesting pieces for Whitemyer Advertising. It is an invitation to a themed private party held by the Seaman Corporation for attendees of an international fabric trade show. As shown here, vivid colors, innovative design, and detailed assembly show off our quality and versatility.

Though different from our status quo, Seaman, through Whitemyer Advertising, provided us with an exciting project that allowed us to show not only Seaman and Whitemyer, but also their customers and guests, the quality of our work.

Thoughts from our customer:

Every year, we at Whitemeyer Advertising Agency help Seaman Corporation plan an elaborate customer party in whatever city that year's international industrial fabric trade show takes place. The event competes for attention with other companies, so it is designed to be very unique -- and that starts with the invitation process. Most years, the invitation involves multiple email messages along with a high-impact mailing that starts with a big idea and then relies heavily on execution with the help of Scott Bosworth and the group from Paragraphics. The October 2012 party, for example, was planned on the USS Constellation, a Civil War-era battleship we rented that's docked in Baltimore Harbor. We titled the party "Seaman Corporation's Gathering of Seafarers and Scallywags," including food, music, photos of attendees with live parrots on their shoulders, a fortune teller, cannons firing and tours of the ship.

The mailer portion of the invitation resembled a treasure chest, die cut and assembled using custom-cut Styrofoam support.  Inside, we printed the details of the event but also inserted several items to increase interest -- a bandana, eyepatch and earring as well as die cut printed pieces that were produced simultaneously to save on budget. Among the printed pieces were a die-cut parrot (promoting the parrot photos), a welcome from the company sea-faring president, a history of the USS Constellation, treasure map with directions to the party, a folder with temporary tattoos and a primer on "how to talk like a pirate."

Paragraphics executed the printing, die-cutting, assembly, shrink-wrapping and mailing on our precise timeline, which we coordinated with various supplemental email messages. The party was a huge success, which came as no surprise. Other years, for example, with help from Scott and the Paragraphics team, we had executed a "Top Gun" theme party on an aircraft carrier in San Diego; a "Poker Run" event  saluting Harley Davidson in Las Vegas; and a "Swingin" at the Red Coconut Club" Rat Pack-style event in Orlando.
